Rental terms

Base text pending legal review. This document describes how online booking works today and does not replace the rental agreement signed when you pick up the vehicle. Where a policy has not been defined yet, it says so explicitly.
1.Who we are and what these terms cover
These terms govern bookings made on this website with Luxury Rent a Car, S. de R.L. de C.V. (“Luxury Rent a Car”). The rental itself is governed by the rental agreement the driver signs when picking up the vehicle; if there is any discrepancy, that agreement prevails.
2.Online booking
- You book a vehicle category, not a specific model or unit: you’ll receive the model shown or a similar one from the same category.
- Your booking is confirmed when the website shows a booking number. That number and the lead driver’s email let you look it up under “My booking”.
- The total shown before you confirm includes the rental time, the protection and extras you chose, and applicable taxes (ISV sales tax and tourism tax). If the total changes before you confirm, the website tells you and asks you to accept it again.
- Prices shown in US dollars are for reference only and are calculated with the exchange rate on record; the booking and every charge are made in Honduran lempiras.
- Online booking closes 2 hours before the pick-up time and covers rentals of up to 90 days.
3.Driver requirements
- Be between 21 and 80 years old on the pick-up date. Some categories require a higher minimum age, shown on each one.
- A driver’s license valid for the entire rental period.
- A DNI or passport matching the booking details.
- The information you provide must be accurate; if it doesn’t match your documents at pick-up, the vehicle may not be released.
4.Payment and security deposit
Nothing is charged online. The total is paid at the branch when you pick up the vehicle.
At pick-up, a security deposit is taken as a credit card pre-authorization or a cash deposit. The amount depends on the category and the protection chosen, is disclosed before you sign, and is released when you return the vehicle in the agreed condition, less any applicable charges.
5.Use, fuel and mileage
- Only the lead driver or additional drivers registered at pick-up may drive the vehicle.
- The vehicle is rented for use within Honduras; taking it out of the country incurs a penalty under the rental agreement.
- Full to full: you get the tank full and return it full. Any missing fuel is charged on return.
- 200 km included per rental day; any excess is settled on return.
6.Rental days and return
Each rental day equals 24 hours counted from the pick-up time, with a 59-minute grace period on return. After that, extra time is charged at the applicable rate.
7.Protection and liability
Protection is optional. Each option shows what it covers and what it doesn’t before you add it. Without additional protection, the renter is liable for damage to, theft of or loss of the vehicle under the rental agreement. The final exclusions and deductibles are those set out in the agreement.
8.Changes, cancellations and no-shows
Policy pending definition by Luxury Rent a Car. Until it is published, changes and cancellations are handled directly with the pick-up branch. No penalty will be applied unless it was published in these terms at the time of booking.
9.Personal data
Booking data is handled in accordance with our privacy policy.
10.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Honduras.
